Engineering an AI-Powered Leap From Legacy to Oracle Fusion

Calfus engineered an AI-powered leap from two decades of Dataworks history to Oracle Fusion, replacing what is typically a slow, manual data conversion with automated, AI agent–driven migration cycles. Pairing disciplined change management with Transformate, the AI-driven migration engine within Calfus’s Aetherion suite, the team delivered a validated Fusion rollout for MI Windows and Doors in a journey that piloted with Milgard and Western Architectural Openings — setting the template for MITER Brands’ portfolio-wide Fusion journey, including PGT Windows and Doors and Anlin

Abstract

MITER Brands, one of the largest residential window and door manufacturers in the US, partnered with Calfus to roll out Oracle Fusion across its portfolio — including MI Windows and Doors, Milgard, Western Architectural Openings, PGT Windows and Doors and Anlin. This case study covers the MI Windows and Doors (MIWD) rollout in a journey that was piloted with Milgard and Western Architectural Openings, MIWD is moving over two decades of Dataworks history onto Oracle Fusion.

Objectives

  • Modernize finance operations by rolling MIWD off a 20+ year legacy Dataworks platform onto Oracle Fusion.
  • Build a proven, repeatable rollout model through a focused pilot on Milgard and Western Window.
  • Minimize business disruption through structured change management and hands-on user adoption.

Calfus Approach & Solution

  • Delivered a full rollout of Oracle Fusion for MI Windows and Doors, with change management as a defining pillar — guiding the finance team off a Dataworks platform used for over two decades through multiple rounds of testing and structured user adoption.
  • Piloted the rollout with Milgard and Western Architectural Openings to validate the approach, part of a broader MITER Brands–Calfus partnership that also spans the Fusion rollout for PGT Windows and Doors and Anlin
  • Deployed Transformate, Calfus’s AI-powered migration tool, to automate the loading of customers, suppliers, AP invoices, AR invoices, POs, and PO receipts — compressing customer conversion from 1 week in Phase 1 to a single weekend in Phase 2.
  • Cut manual effort and back-and-forth with business teams by automating data mapping, validation, and reconciliation during conversion cycles.
  • Ran iterative testing cycles with business stakeholders to confirm data accuracy and readiness ahead of go-live.

Outcomes

  • Centralized payments, AR receipts, collections, and customer statements across entities — while keeping Dataworks equipped with the exposure data needed to apply credit holds.
  • Established centralized cash management and a common intercompany process across the MITER Brands portfolio.
  • Compressed AI-powered migration timelines with Transformate — from a 1-week customer conversion in Phase 1 to a weekend turnaround in Phase 2.
  • Smooth user adoption of Oracle Fusion after more than two decades on Dataworks
